Mr Steinberg has been Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for First Sentier Investors since September 2017 and is based in Sydney.
He brings a strong background in acquisitions and wealth management to his role. Before joining the company, Mr Steinberg was Group Chief Financial Officer and Group Chief Operating Officer of Cover-More, an Australian Stock Exchange listed company, where he oversaw several acquisitions before Cover-More was acquired in April 2017.
Prior to this, he held positions at Colonial First State, including Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He also held CFO positions at Vodafone New Zealand and Australia and Finance Director of Vodafone Japan.
Mr Steinberg is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand and a Senior Fellow of FINSIA.
Mr Ueno was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer in March 2022 and is based in Sydney. He has worked for First Sentier Investors since August 2019 and was appointed Head of US Governance in September 2021. As part of this role, he managed the US consultation and reporting process with First Sentier Investors' US parent companies - MUFG Americas and MUFG Fund Services (USA). In 2022, Mr Ueno was appointed to the Steering Committee of the First Sentier MUFG Sustainable Investment Institute.
Prior to his time at First Sentier Investors, Mr Ueno spent over 20 years at First Sentier Investors' shareholder, Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation, in a variety of roles including corporate finance, strategy planning for asset management and investor services business, and the project management office of integration projects.
Mr Ueno has an MBA from the International Corporate Strategy, Hitotsubashi University and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Waseda University.
Mr Allen was appointed to the role of Global Head of Investment Management in November 2021. In 2022, he assumed responsibility for both the Product and Responsible Investment businesses at First Sentier Investors and relocated from Sydney to London in mid-2024.
Mr Allen has over 20 years’ global asset management experience, specialising in building investment businesses and leading investment teams.
Prior to First Sentier Investors, Mr Allen spent five years at AMP Capital as Global Chief Investment Officer, Equities and previously held senior investment leadership roles at Sarasin & Partners, Fidelity International, and Pioneer Investments. In these roles he has led teams across a wide range of capabilities, including equities, fixed income, multi-asset, ESG, dealing, risk management and operations.
Mr Allen holds a Masters in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London, and spent the early part of his career in the oil and gas industry.
Ms Daniel was appointed to Chief Risk Officer in January 2023. Based in London, she is responsible for the organisation’s global risk management and compliance functions.
Prior to joining First Sentier Investors, Ms Daniel was at Aegon Asset Management where she was Global Chief Risk and Compliance Officer. She was responsible for leading a team of 85 across Europe, US and Asia, and oversaw portfolio risk management, enterprise risk management and compliance. Other notable roles included ambassador for inclusion and diversity, and board directorships on its global, regional and joint venture companies.
With a career spanning 30 years, Ms Daniel has had prior experience to senior risk leadership roles across corporate and international banking, wealth management, transaction services as well as asset management including leadership roles at Columbia Threadneedle Investments and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Ms Daniel has a fellowship at the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Scotland (FCIBS) and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB).
Ms Evans is responsible for the global Finance and Strategy function in her role as Chief Financial and Strategy Officer, which includes accounting, tax, treasury and corporate strategy.
Based in Sydney, she has more than 25 years of experience across all aspects of capital markets including banking, life insurance, financial services and property. Prior to joining the company, Ms Evans held roles in investor relations, treasury, strategy and mergers and acquisitions for several publicly listed entities.
Ms Evans holds a Masters in Applied Finance from Macquarie University and is a Non-Executive Director of Domestic Violence NSW Service Management, a not-for-profit providing services to women and children escaping family violence.
Ms Gazal was appointed to Chief Operating Officer (COO) in February 2024 and is based in Sydney. She is responsible for information technology, including information security, operations, project office, procurement and supplier governance, business continuity and data.
With over 20 years of experience in asset management and investment banking, Ms Gazal joined First Sentier Investors from Perpetual Limited (Perpetual) where she was COO since 2020.
Prior to Perpetual, Ms Gazal was at DWS Group, majority-owned by Deutsche Bank, in Singapore, where she was COO for Asia Pacific Distribution and Singapore COO. She joined DWS from Deutsche Bank where she held several roles across Trading and Distribution. Prior to this, she was the COO of the European Emerging Market Debt Trading desk with Credit Suisse in London.
Ms Gazal holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand and a GAICD.
Mr Moore was appointed Global Head of Distribution of First Sentier Investors in May 2020 to provide oversight of sales and to manage client relationships globally. In 2022, his role expanded to include responsibility for the Marketing and Communications functions. Mr Moore is based in London.
Prior to this role, Mr Moore was Managing Director, Australia, New Zealand and Japan with responsibility for business development and client service in these markets.
Before joining the firm in June 2010, Mr Moore spent six years at Russell Investments as a consultant in the Institutions and Governments team, providing strategic investment advice and implementation to domestic and pan-Asian clients. He has also worked as a client advisor and analyst at UBS Wealth Management Australia and Johnson Taylor Potter.
Mr Moore holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Melbourne.
Ms Swan joined First Sentier Investors in 2019, later taking on the role of Global Head of Talent, Leadership and DE&I. In June 2024, she was appointed Chief People and Culture Officer, having held the role of Interim Chief People and Culture Officer for three months. Ms Swan is based in Edinburgh.
Ms Swan has over 25 years of experience across the full spectrum of talent, people and culture within the global financial services sector, including the asset management sector. She has worked internationally, leading global teams across multiple jurisdictions to deliver successful business outcomes.
Prior to joining First Sentier Investors, Ms Swan held roles with HSBC and Standard Life, gaining extensive experience in organisational design and development strategies, change management and HR operational delivery.
Ms Swan holds a Master’s in Politics, Economic and Social History from The University of Edinburgh and a PGDip in Human Resource Management. She is also a Chartered Member of CIPD.
Mr Beaini became Managing Director, Americas for First Sentier Investors in March 2020 and is based in New York. He is responsible for strategy development and business management in the region, including overall responsibility for client and consultant relationships.
Mr Beaini is also a director on the board of First Sentier Investors US and member of the global Risk & Compliance Committee.
He has worked with First Sentier Investors since 2007 in a variety of roles including business development, strategy, projects and Investments. Prior to joining the company, he held roles at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in investment development (M&A) and structured credit.
Mr Beaini has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Monash University.
Mr Cotton is Managing Director, EMEA, having joined in September 2020. From October 2022 to January 2024, he assumed the role of acting Chief Operating Officer (COO) globally and was appointed Chief of Staff in February 2024. He is based in Edinburgh and sits on the board of directors of each of First Sentier Investors’ main operating entities in the UK and Ireland.
Prior to joining First Sentier Investors, Mr Cotton was COO and a member of the Executive team at M&G Limited. During his 20 years at M&G, he held senior management positions and was a director of several regulated entities including M&G Securities (the ACD) and was also a Trustee of the M&G defined benefit pension scheme. Mr Cotton commenced his career at Sedgwick Noble Lowndes as an Investment Consultant.
Mr Cotton holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Middlesex University and is a Certified Investment Fund Director.
Ms Prendiville became Managing Director and Head of Distribution, Asia Pacific (APAC) for First Sentier Investors in November 2021. In her role, she is responsible for managing the business in APAC (inclusive of Australia and New Zealand), overseeing the business development and the day-to-day functional operations in the region. She is a director on several company subsidiary boards and is based in Singapore.
Ms Prendiville has over 20 years of asset management experience. Prior to joining First Sentier Investors in 2014, she was the Executive Director, Institutional Business Development with Goldman Sachs Asset Management based in London and Singapore. She also held roles at Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Investec Asset Management, working across multiple client segments including pension funds, central banks, sovereign wealth funds, endowments and private clients. Ms Prendiville began her career in South Africa and after spending 10 years in London, she transferred to Singapore in 2009.
Ms Prendiville holds an Investment Management Certificate and a Certificate in Corporate Governance from INSEAD.
Mr Mills is the Managing Partner and the Global Head of Igneo Infrastructure Partners (‘Igneo’), part of the First Sentier Investors Group, based in London. He is a member of the Global and European Investment Committees and a Board Member of several portfolio companies.
Mr Mills has had a 35-year career in the infrastructure sector as an engineer, project manager and investment manager. He joined First Sentier Investors in 2008 as a founding member of the European Infrastructure business and became Managing Partner of the global infrastructure business in 2020, which subsequently rebranded to Igneo Infrastructure Partners in 2022.
With Igneo as the independently branded direct infrastructure business of First Sentier Investors, Mr Mills was invited to join the executive leadership team of First Sentier Investors in October 2022.
Mr Milne is Managing Partner of Stewart Investors, part of the First Sentier Investors Group, having been appointed to the role in October 2018. He has been a member of the Stewart Investors’ Board since June 2017 and is based in Edinburgh.
Mr Milne joined Stewart Investors in January 2015. He has broad experience as a lawyer in both private practice and industry, including in a family office investment business.
Previously, Mr Milne was a partner in the Corporate Group of Dundas & Wilson and CMS Cameron McKenna, and before that a director of Murray Capital, a Scottish-based investment business.
Mr Milne is a practising solicitor with an Honours degree in law from Edinburgh University.
Mr Stapleton became Managing Partner of FSSA Investment Managers, part of the First Sentier Investors Group, in July 2015. Based in Hong Kong, he is responsible for the business management of the FSSA Investment Managers team.
Mr Stapleton has more than 23 years of experience in the investments industry. He joined FSSA Investment Managers in 2015 after being part of First Sentier Investors’ global business for more than 19 years.
After joining First Sentier Investors in 1998, Mr Stapleton worked in the institutional business in Australia before moving to the UK to become Head of Institutional Business Development. He subsequently moved to Hong Kong in 2009 and has been based in Asia since then.
Mr Stapleton holds a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University. He is also a CFA charterholder.
