Wednesday, 23 July 2025: First Sentier Investors, a leading global investment manager, has launched its first integrated Climate and Nature Report for 2024, bringing together nature-related considerations into existing climate reporting, and aligning its mandatory and voluntary climate reporting with its reporting obligations as adopters of the Taskforce on Nature Related Disclosures (TNFD) recommendations.
The report highlights First Sentier Investors’ commitment to responsible investment practices and in moving beyond siloed climate disclosure, acknowledges the interconnectedness of climate and nature, including their synergies and trade-offs. The streamlined report offers First Sentier Investors’ clients insight into its approach and progress to date, and how it addresses and integrates these dual systemic risks and opportunities.
Kate Turner, Global Head of Responsible Investment at First Sentier Investors, said: “Launching our integrated Climate and Nature Report sets an important benchmark for our business. It signals our move beyond siloed disclosures and reporting, and highlights the interconnectedness of climate and nature, which are key focus areas for us.”
Since 2017, First Sentier Investors has utilised the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) as a framework for the development of its climate disclosures, which has been supplemented through mandatory reporting requirements in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom. In 2024, First Sentier Investors sought to align its climate disclosures to the IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures framework and set its first nature initiation targets as a TNFD Adopter.
“Becoming a TNFD adopter and completing reporting has enabled us to look at the bigger picture and focus on the interconnectedness of nature, climate and other factors such as human rights at an organisational level. Our reporting journey continues to evolve as we embed recommendations from leading global disclosure frameworks into our governance structures, and in doing so, we continue to challenge the way we look at these issues and consider responsible investment,” concluded Turner.
The approach taken in the Climate and Nature Report is supported by the publishing of First Sentier Investors’ recent report, An integrative approach to responsible investment, aimed at identifying and addressing the interactions, flow on effects, synergies and trade-offs of environmental, social and governance (ESG) investment decisions.
