The Worldwide Leaders Sustainability strategy
The Worldwide Leaders Sustainability strategy launched in November 2013 and transitioned to become a dedicated sustainability strategy in October 2016. The strategy is now available in New Zealand. It invests in 40-60 high-quality global companies that are particularly well positioned to contribute to, and benefit from, sustainable development.
Leaders simply means that this strategy is focused on companies with a market cap value of at least USD5 billion.
Strategy highlights: A focus on quality and sustainability
Companies must contribute to sustainable development and make a net-positive impact to a more sustainable future
We invest in high-quality companies with exceptional cultures, strong franchises and resilient financials
We avoid companies linked to harmful activities and engage and vote for positive change
Our approach is long-term, bottom-up, high conviction and benchmark agnostic
We focus on capital preservation as well as capital growth – we define risk as the permanent loss of client capital
Stewart Investors Worldwide Leaders Sustainability Fund
The Worldwide Leaders Sustainability Fund has been certified by RIAA according to the strict operational and disclosure practices required under the Responsible Investment Certification Program. See www.responsibleinvestment.org for details.1

Quarterly strategy updates
Updates including portfolio changes and proxy voting for Worldwide Leaders Sustainability and more
We provide regular strategy updates including portfolio changes and proxy voting, and links to our investment rationales, latest articles, statements, webcasts and videos which explore our thinking on sustainable investment, including the challenges and issues we grapple with in our search for high-quality companies.
How Big is Big Enough:
The world’s largest tech companies have become the engine rooms of society and not just the economy. Portfolio Manager, Sashi Reddy, explore the risks of investing in these massive corporations.
The problem with ESG scores:
Some ESG data can be useful in certain circumstances, but an over-reliance on simple ESG scores can be a dangerous strategy, especially when using them to build investment portfolios. Relying too heavily on ESG scores is also unlikely to help reorient capital towards more sustainable companies.
